MANLIUS, NY — Manlius police and local firefighters rescued a woman trapped on the ice at Green Lakes State Park.
Police and fire crews responded at about 1:50 p.m. on Feb. 26 to the state park in the town of Manlius. It was reported that the woman fell through the ice, but she was able to pull herself out and was now stuck on the lake.
Police officer Katlyn Cook tossed a ResQ Disc — an orange, frisbee-like device attached to a rope — to the woman, according to the Manlius Police Department. She crawled a few feet to grab onto the disc.
Cook pulled the rope and the woman slid toward the shore. Other first responders arrived to help too.
